Default Registering 2 or more colours on a 1 colour press

Hi folks, I am new on here, and screenprinting. I have just posted an introduction on that section.
So I have a single colour very basic press and have managed to get to grips with screen coating, exposure and single colour printing.
I have been asked to produce a 3 colour run with a simple logo but unfortunately the colours butt up so registration is important.
I have not managed to work out a way to do this as yet as I need to print say 10 blacks, then do the blues then the reds which means taking the shirts off each time and then changing the screen.
Is there actually a way to this or I am trying to do something that is not achievable with what I have?
Any tips much appreciated!
Thank you

You have come face to face with the perils of saving too much money. The single color press taught you how to make screens and how to keep ink from drying on the screen. Hey, I was exactly where you are.
Here's what you should think about. Watch the videos on Ryonet about their 'registration' system. Then look at others. Watch them several times.
Next head to YouTube and search 'Table presses.' Compare how these table press folks create registration that aligns with the principles noted on Ryonet.
Now get the square, tape, marking tools and drill and have some fun. I actually use a pizza spanker as the shirt platen meaning I never remove the shirt from the registered platen and/or screen. You will need to address the 'off-contact' most likely via screen spacers.
NOTE: don't try this with water based inks.
NOTE: be aware when emulsion, graphic and tape are applied marking on the mesh can not be seen.

Ok thanks a lot, I will take a good look.
If I need a different press that's not the end of the world but I have plenty of time to produce shirts so I just need to see if it's actually feasible with what I have.
Nice of you to respond.

Now that is it in a nutshell. A multi-color press is not that expensive.
But, I did a little more looking for an old post and you might like this link related to homemade table presses.

Very time consuming. I have seen it done, using marks on the screen and clamp, but not to be recomended for stuff you want to sell.

Screen making needs to be very accurate, so that the image is in virtually the same position on each screen.

If you remove the shirt between colours (to print in batches) the garment will never go back on the press in exactly the same shape. Registration will be difficult, so you will need to change screens over for each shirt printed.

You can take a look at the locating mechanism on the "Blue Diamond Silk Screen Printer" (Google is your friend). You may be able to rig up something similar on what you have.

It isn't perfect by any means but you have to work within its capabilities.

Just an idea.

Oh man, I did this when I first started. took me like 40 hours to do 40 shirts. It was all freehand and it sucked. I cried a lot.

Jenn, you are spot on. Many of us went down that road. Learned from the failures and realized saving too much money becomes EXPENSIVE.

That was a decision reflecting you know your time is worth something. For color is not that expensive, get one with the micros and start laying down some ink and don't be afraid to color outside the lines. Screen printing is a creator blank canvas.
