Default Outline Text Screen printing

New to screen printing.

When printing small letters with a outline, how do you get the best results for clean / crisp lines for both the font and especially the outline. Plastisol ink.

We have two jobs on the horizon that we would like to bid on. One is black text on white background and one is navy print on a lighter hoodie and t shirt.

Working with older corel draw but willing to upgrade to new software if suggested to make my like easier for separations, etc. Or if you have a video link to suggest as well.

We add a 1 point outline to the original outline to "fill in the gaps" before burning the screen

This causes the outline to fill in just enough to avoid any gapping

Good question! I have the same issue with my Screen Printing Machine (Manual)

I burned the image of my logo onto a small 110 mesh silk screen (aluminum) and the letters DON'T come out crisp at all! I think I'm using too much water pressure.

Sounds like your burn time might be a bit off. Do you have an exposure calculator?

I can speak to Corel portion of your question: Yes, I do believe that version 2019 is worth the upgrade. Here's a link to one of the classes we've recorded on the subject: https://coreltrainer.com/corel-2019/
In Corel, you may improve your outline thickness, bleed/spread, & consistency by converting outline to object before moving to production (after sizing for the job). (Ctrl+Shft+Q)

I cannot see where the problem is and how the newer software would help.
The easiest way to do this is by overlaying the layers, as you would do with vinyl.
