Default oki and Macs

Hi I just bought a secondhand Oki 7411WT. It came with the space control software. I had to purchase a windows machine to run it of course but my illustrator and all my graphics knowledge is with Macs. Does anyone have a workflow for producing simple text graphics that can be printed to the Oki from the Mac- preferably from Adobe illustrator
I just can't make it work with a white underbase. the underbase either doesn't work or the black prints as white or the white doesn't print. I have exported as PDF in every version, PNG and more. Just can't get it to work and thinking of selling it. Any help appreciated. I just want to print coloured text with white behind to pop the colours on a dark background using a Mac computer.

Default Re: oki and Macs

We experienced similar issues to this with 'Transfer Rip' software by Forever. We're currently waiting for a post in this forum to be validated and made public which relates to this issue.

We partitioned one of the office Macs to basically convert it to a Windows machine, exported a PDF from the Macs running illustrator and sent the exported file to the printer from the Windows machine via the rip software.

This setup was expensive, clunky and ultimately didn't work so we removed the rip software from the equation. Our particular model of OKI (OKI Pro 8432WT) was able to print from Illustrator on the Macs directly after a bit of fiddling with the print settings to select the correct tray.

This is a discussion about oki and Macs that was posted in the T shirt Printing Issues section of the forums.
