In my case the customer did care and rightly so. The text being so high on the shirt doesn't look right at all.

Yeah, placement can certainly matter; realistically that's like saying the colors don't matter either, because its still the same design.

Hey we've had some actual Spreadshirt prints through and we like 'em. We ordered a mix of print types and designs include vector graphics and bitmaps on different materials bags, t-shirts, badges etc. As far as I can tell all the designs are exactly where we placed them. I know a few customers who have ordered who are happy too. If we get any designs appearing in strange places, I'll let you all know.

Here is their latest response:

"Our production team places graphics assuming that the customer wants the
graphics placed in the common areas of their shirts."

In my opinion the customer assumes that the graphics will be placed the way they were shown in the picture when they placed the order!

I ordered one of my shirts from them and the text was slightly faded on part of the t-shirt.

Anyone else had any problems - I'm a bit worried about what they mean by common areas - there is a limited printing zone but within that surely, they should print where the design is placed. Like I said, all our stuff has been fine so far.

Hello everyone!
I am a Customer Service Representative from Spreadshirt.com, and I think it may help if I could clarify a little bit about our production process.
We attempt to place graphics and images as accurately as possible.
If a design that was submitted by a customer looks out of place or strangely spaced, we make contact with the customer to ensure that they are getting the look that they want.
We value our customers and their time with Spreadshirt.com.
Quality and service are top priorities and we want to be sure that all of our customers know that we want to be available for them every step of the way.
Thanks for your time
John

I'm not saying placement doesn't matter at all. I'm saying that from experience, our expectation of exact placement and the customer's expectation of placement is often quite different.

Simply put, customer's aren't as picky about that specific aspect as we are as the t-shirt designer.

The shirts I've received from spreadshirt we're printed beautifully, no fading and great placement (exactly where I had them in the shop).

From what I've seen of the particular design in question, it is definitely a non-standard placement that would probably need to be sorted out directly with the printshop.

It's the first time I've seen that type of placement in years of handling printjobs and seeing the finished t-shirt product.

Not saying it couldn't be done, but I can see why it may need more explaination than the normal design that is just placed in the center or the left or the back or even off center on one side.

I would keep following up with Spreadshirt until you get someone that understands the issue and can guarantee (or say it's possible or not possible) the placement you want.

Maybe you could send a PM to the jspreadshirt (John that just posted) to see if he can look into the issue.

Are you saying that most shops on Spreadshirt just use the spreadshirt graphics? That doesn't seem to me like it would generate much sales.

Hey there guys,

As a spreadshirt employee, I would like to kindly ask you to send an e-mail instead, I understand that sending PM is a default way of contacting people on the forum, but also please understand that with an extremely huge development in US, we have really extremely lot of things to do and checking for PMs on a number of forums just takes too much time

That is why I really would like to ask you to handle this matter by e-mail and I hope that you all will continue to be happy with our services and recommend them to others

Have fun,

Bartosz Lechowski

Hey guys!!! I just opened my spreadshop today! Here's the url:
http://www.spreadshirt.com/shop.php?sid=4409

I have 3 shirts online so far (I drew the lips myself with adobe illustrator). I have uploaded 2 more vector designs and I'm waiting for them to be approved. I have dozens more ideas I'm gonna draw/create as fast as I can.

I set up a shop a few weeks ago and have even had some sales. So far I've been happy with the service. At present I am concentrating on slogans and trying to work out how to market the shop. It's aimed at the UK, hence prices are in GBP.
I thought of setting up a US shop but they only pay commission through PayPal and I prefer electronic bank transfer which is how they handle it in Europe.

The shop is at http://inta.spreadshirt.net/
As I said it is still very much under construction.

Where did you advertise so far, Arctus? I have zero sales cuz I just opened up a few days ago and nobody knows about my site. I submitted a feed to Froogal, but they're gonna take several days to approve my feed.

I used Google adWords. However, it does work out expensive at first and you really have to keep changing your ad text to continue to get results.

I browsed the site and it seems rather expensive. Am I missing a section on the website for wholesalers? The shipping is very reasonable though
