Default anyone else have this problem at Spreadshirt?

1st post, so please be gentle

If I upload a design using the t-shirt designer I can place my design on any product and any colour (including black) However, if I upload my design while "creating a product" I can't put the design on anything other than light coloured items, if I try to use a dark colour, it just greys out the design and says it can't be done, yet it's the same design.

Anyone any ideas? I've emailed them about it, but had no reply yet

It sounds like your design isn't a vector design.

Instead of going to "create a product" first, have you tried going to "upload a design" first?

no it;s not a vector image, it''s just a design I did for my band

I think I've sussed it now. Apparently digital printing on dark colours is in beta testing and only available in the "English Designer" for now. As soon as you try to design for a shop, you go out of the English Designer and into the general one, where the beta testing isn't available.

I think
