Default I can't figure out how to meet the vector requirements...guide or something?

My vector designs keep getting rejected from Spreadshirt over and over again. I'll admit I'm not good at Illustrator at all, but Spreadshirt's FAQ isn't helping. Is there some sort of guide I can follow which shows examples of each thing in the requirements? For example, I have no idea what it means to "properly close" a curve.

Ok, I can help. What version of Illustrator are you working in? Their method of printing is to cut vinyl and then apply it to the shirt. The plotter/cutter they use follows paths you have drawn in Illustrator. If you are drawing a shape. it must be a continuous path and the ends must be joined. That is what is meant by "properly close". If this is not done, the vinyl path doesn't cut entirely. Let me know if you need any more help.

Hi, Denise. Thanks for the help. I'm using Illustrator CS3 13.0.0.

One other question I had is how to measure how big the design is. There is a measurement for X and Y, and then for H and W, and both say something different. Spreadshirt says the entire design can't be larger than 30cm x 30cm. Which one do I look at? The XY or the HW?

I use CS2 myself. Measuring the design can be done a couple of ways. Most of the time I will use autoshape tool for a rectangle and double click. That will bring up a box where you can type in the size you want to stroke, no fill. I lock that layer and select the design to change the scale. I make sure I have the Preview button checked and then I play with the scale until it fills the rectangle. (If you tab you can see the size change and can readjust easily before accepting it.) I either delete the rectuangle or use it to create the crop marks. You will probably delete it.

Spreadshirt doesn't accept designs in CS3 format, when you save you have save as a CS2.

I have a tutorial I got somewhere on how to use AI and Corel Draw for Spreadshirt but it's too big to upload. Send me a pm with your email and I'll send it on to ya...
