Re: The dreaded error 10004

The carriage does not even try to move the right before it errors when starting from the left side of the machine? This is abnormal and suggests that the motor is not working. Even if there was...

Re: The dreaded error 10004

To add to Zippy's advice, try running this test. Turn the power off to the machine, undock the carriage unit from the capping station and move it to the left side of the machine. Turn the power back...

Re: The dreaded error 10004

Randy,

I have attached a document that pertains to the issue you are experiencing. It might just be improper tension on the drive belt so give that a shot.

Heedone,

Have you had a chance to try adjusting the IR sensor closer to the flag?

Re: servo fault

Heedone,

The power supply that Matt is referring to is the power supply inside the rear cover of the base. It might be worth trying but I haven't seen it cause the issue we were troubleshooting...

Re: main or power board replacement?

My thoughts would be to try the motherboard first. The epson power supplies are pretty robust in all of their models. I've seen those things survive some pretty dirty environments. The motherboards,...

Re: Odd Look To White Ink (Need Advice)

Also, be sure you are agitating your pretreatment every day. If the PT settles out of the water, the gun will fire more PT at times and more water others, which looks like what might have been...

Re: White channel clogged?

He's right, the print head is probably shot.

Flush the lines, replace the damper, but the print head is most likely clogged.

You can still try to save it, though. Attached is a PDF on how to...

Re: Beta testing the Epson SureColor DTG

Business model. They sold printers on the presumption of ink after sale. Epson makes printers but that is not where the money is for them. It's in the ink. DTG does not work like that. There is...

Re: White channel clogged?

Sounds like air got into the line. Flush that line with %50 dH20/%50 NH3. Replace the damper and flush/back flush the print head. Also, if you haven't changed your capping station in the last year,...

Re: DTG: Quality Vs. Speed

Using your logic(?), then there is little difference in the Free-Jet, iDot, Viper, and the Flexi-Jet/NeoFlex as they are all based off the 48xx series printer costing $4995. Ignore the fact that each...

Re: DTG: Quality Vs. Speed

To add to Jerid's comment, the 48XX has to spit after every pass so this also adds to the ink cost and print time. The 1800 does it only after every 12 passes, give or take.

Re: Epson SureColor Printer Maintenance

Nozzle checks should also be used as a proactive step in avoiding downtime. Taking one in the morning, midday and end of day and comparing them will help to identify problem channels before they shut...

Re: Epson 4800 cleaned and flushed, still no ink through the print head.

A brand new print head will require about a 2 on pressure and it will waterfall perfectly. A used one maybe 3-4. Six to eight is definitely going to be too much and you run the risk of blowing out...

Re: Epson 4800 cleaned and flushed, still no ink through the print head.

If this fuse were blown, the machine would not power on so we can rule that out.

Depends. If you are seeing fluid in the maintenance tank after cleanings, than there is some fluid flowing...

Re: Epson 4800 cleaned and flushed, still no ink through the print head.

Dan is correct. It is most likely a blown fuse on the motherboard. Depending on when the machine was manufactured it may or may not have a fast blow fuse installed.

I have attached two files: 1)...

Re: Is the Epson SureColor DTG printing at SGIA? Any photos/videos?

Many RIP's have that feature so I imagine Epson would include it in theirs. I believe the developers have not had the machine for very long so it probably hasn't been implemented, yet but I'm sure it...
