Re: Anyone coming to Long Beach show?

Hah! I only care if they know how to mix! It's only an authentic mojito if they use fresh mint. And a martini doesn't mean vodka!

Re: What's the secret to applying on coroplast?

641 is too low quality for any kind of permanent usage, I wouldn't go below 651 unless you're just making temporary grand opening or garage sale or political signs.

Your transfer tape is...

Re: Anyone coming to Long Beach show?

Actually, I'm not much of a beer guy. You'll have to find someplace with a good bartender ;)

Re: Anyone coming to Long Beach show?

One of these days you're gonna have too many people take you up on that and run out of beer money! :D

Re: How did they do this?

I consider GIMP 2.8 to be far, far more powerful than Photoshop 7, which is what I learned on. Its printing capabilities are terrible but Elements 9 came with my printer and I plan on buying QImage...

Re: Do people put too much emphasis on Facebook & Twitter?

Also remember that social media often tends to be a passing fad. Livejournal, ICQ, Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, Blogger, Myspace, etc... some of them are still around and moderately used (like...

Re: Need some advice with this design!

How on earth did they expect this to work on a black shirt with black letters? White outlines would work but I think it would look pretty bad. Some of those ribbons are so pastel they won't even show...

Re: What printer to use? W/ heat press

I think a lot of people missed the OP mentioning he had a shirt press and a mug press.

You need sublimation inks to print and press on a mug. Sublimation inks will only work on 100% polyester...

Re: what's the best way to print on to vinyl? Special paper?

Sihl does not make precut sheets but your supplier may be able to slit the rolls to the right width for you, then you can cut off pieces as needed. I'm still trying to come up with a suitable way to...

[Brother GT-782] Pre-Treat allergy?

Re: Pre-Treat allergy?

Try some Lava or GoJo (pumice) or Orange Goop (non-pumice but still better than plain soap).

As far as irritants go, vinegar is non-toxic but I don't think you'd want to stand around soaking in it...

Re: Is there any printer that uses white ink?

Question: Anyone out there ever tried to use a printer modified with a RIP to use white ink to print on JPSS? Someone has to have thought of this one before... it probably won't work but you never...

Re: Art Swapping

Really, what we're talking about here are "generic shirt templates". There are already "free template" websites out there for nearly every industry, but they tend to be pretty bad (or virus breeding...

Re: How much would you charge..

You have to walk a very fine line here (it's often not a good idea to let your personal hobby/business mix with your full time job), which is why I'm simply using my job to practice sign vinyl...

Re: Best way to sell shirts!?!

I haven't ordered much from them but I always wondered how their quality was on other products. The business card quality is fine, but being about 3mm undersized in both height and width makes them...

Re: Save as ? To print. (jpeg, pdf, does it matter?)

I would use PDF, that way you just open it quickly in the viewer and print. The only problem with this is if you need to print using color management/ICC profiles, in which case you will need a...

Re: print and cut stickers anything cheaper than BN-20

Frog Juice/Frog Spit is also a good pro product. I am planning on doing custom decals on-the-fly at a few local comic and artists' conventions. I've heard Frog Juice will knock you out with the fumes...

Re: shop adjusting Image size to fit 13 x 19

You shouldn't be using "fit to page" to resize your images, you should be designing them exactly at the size you want them to be printed.

What version of Photoshop are you using? Under the Image...

Re: shop adjusting Image size to fit 13 x 19

You want to change your print size before actually going to print it. However, with that ratio, your biggest size will be 13 x 18.527. The image proportions don't resize to 13 x 19 without skewing...

Re: Customer signed the work order but wont pay me! What can i do?

Where do collections agencies come into all this? I've had calls at work for former employees for all sorts of debts nearly a decade after they left. As much as I hate them, people like this deserve...

Re: print and cut stickers anything cheaper than BN-20

Ribcage mentioned the Gerber Edge. Otherwise, no, there really aren't any machines out there that do it all in one for less than that. Anything else, you will have to print separately with...

Re: print and cut stickers anything cheaper than BN-20

Re: Can somebody give me an idea?

Re: Vinyl adhesive remover for car decals?

Be careful with denatured alcohol. Some are denatured with methanol, which, while highly toxic, is usually in small enough amounts to not be an issue. Others, however, are denatured with nastier...

Re: print and cut stickers anything cheaper than BN-20

No, I see no reason to spend $30k on a machine when I can still make a profit doing small batches in-house and outsource to people who did buy a $30k machine. All this talk about "prints are slower"...
