You certainly are able to cut out designs that are the size of a fingernail. Just make sure you adjust the blade speed to be slower, that way it won't damage the frisket paper.

If you are making t-shirts for schools, that still leaves the door wide open for various types and brands of vinyl. I would recommend that, if you can, take dive and see if you can get or buy samples...

It doesn't hurt lightly shaking inkjet cartridges. The only thing I could think of that might have happened, was that the new inks that was installed settled or not missed well. I'm not positive,...

You have the right equipment, just make sure you image resolution is 300ppi. If you pull images that are not high quality, you will get a blurry print.

Really at bare minimal, all you need is design software(Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw), software for your books (Quickbooks) and the required programs/drivers for your machines.
