Beach towels? :) I always tell people to take a look at the standard platen sizes for the Epson/Brother and now Ricoh machines.. They do a ton of market research/ R&D .. Ink cost is the limiting...

No future plans for a 42" which is typically used for over size prints or 2 up platens! "Oversize prints is a very small niche market in the dtg industry, including expensive ink cost...

Check your cables where they plug into the lcd screen CN1/CN2... the problem is within those cables (with you not getting power to the lcd) ..this is a sign of damaged contacts/cable, or not...

the printer has to be in a ready state is the first step (getting the conversion portion of the printer done correctly)

skip,
like i said previously the P600/R3000 is a completely different printer mainboard with additional sensors so it will not be like your r2000, do not pay attention to the sensors i jumped in...
