Question Printer and separations

Hi, I have owned and operated a screen print business for the last 15 years. I use corel draw for all my art and separations. My problem is that I have always used my HP laserjet 5100 for all my negatives and separations. I have used it for so long because it has always worked so well for me in my business. I have never even tried any other printer or way to print my separations. Can someone give me a little advice on what printer I need to get or what direction I need to go because I really have to get my art out asap. Luckily I have friends in the business that are printing my separations for the moment but I have to get back to normal. Thanks in advance, Matt

Default Re: Printer and separations

Hi Matt,
I also use corel for all my separations, i've been printing for 10 years. My Epson 1430 all black printer just died about a week ago, so i was in a pinch to find a replacement but wanted to upgrade my film separation printer at the same time...i finally decided to go with Epsons P400 and it is working great, very affordable under $400. Really depends on your budget and the max size separation film you want to use. I only go up to a 13"x19" piece of film for my printing. I was limited to certain types of printers as well since they had to be compatible with my ACCURIP license to produce halftones from my screen artwork. Hope this helps
