Question 4800 Chip Resetter Problem

I just purchased a chip resetter for the 4800 and I thought it was suppose to reset maintenance-tanks as well. Is this true? I purchased it from DTG Inks - 4800 Chip Resetter
and tried to reset my tank with no avail. It now says "No Maintenance -Tank" when installed...
Just curious if anyone knew if this is the correct one or if I am experiencing operator error! I am awaiting response from DTGInks but thought someone here might know.
---Thanks and have a good day!!!

If you purchased a universal chip resetter, it should reset the maintenance tank.

We did have a universal chip resetter stop working on us after about 1 year. We purchased the same exact resetter and it is now fine. We now have an extra one on hand just in case our currently working one dies in the middle of a run.

These pieces of equipment are not 100% reliable, so it isn't always operator error!

I'm kinda having a similar problem.

I tried resetting my tank to no avail. Just got the "NO MNT TNK" message. I even bought a new tank to not have to deal with it. Still getting "NO MNT TNK" message on the new tank.

any advice would be appreciated.

If you try to reset it and even if the light is green you can still have a bad chip. Just simply replace the chip and you can fix the issue. Chips can only be reset a certain amount of times before they go bad. Try using a pencil eraser on the chip then resetting if you think the chip is bad, this is always my last resort. If anyone wants instructions I have instructions and troubleshooting techniques on this stuff.

I talked to tech support at Conde and he thought some connection inside the printer needed to be cleaned.

Sometimes if you get printers shipped to you it causes a lot of problems with the maintenance tank. If you are still having issues there is a device to bypass the chip and sensor, but you have to check the maintenance tank though just to make sure that it doesn't overfill.

Do you know where I can find that bypass? I was just thinking about buying another used 4800. I'm using my 1400 now.
