Default ICC Profile - Waht point do I need it?

I have the ICC profile for sawgrass sublimation inks and I know how to load them onto photoshop.
I am however confused as to when I need to use switch to the profile, should I use the profile will designing the new t shirt (from the start) or just swithch over to it if I am intending printing it using sublimation inks for which I have a seperate printer with the inks installed.
Sorry to be so thick about this but any help would be appreciated.

Cheers in Advance

Sawgrass has ICC profile for each ink...Sublijet/Artainium/gel ink. Depending on your printer but with the ICC program for Sublijet/Gel...it will install a separate printer driver specifically for that ink/printing in sublimation. You merely select the right driver...in the case of sublijet/gel the printer is listed as 'powerdriver and your printer' With Artainium the installation was not automatic...you need to run the program to get the driver loaded. Use it every time you are printing sublimation...also turn off color management in your design program

Thanks for the reply Charles.
So just to clarify I am OK using normal ICC profile (Photoshop) but just need to load ICC profile for Artanium (these are the inks I have) when printing using Sublimation printing.
This would make sense just checkin.
I appreciate your help with this matter.

Most sublimination printers automatically handle the ICC profiles.... best if you check the manual that came with your printer

Yes...artainium ICC profile installs differently than the sublijet...so you should have it...if not call your vendor and when I was using artainium inks I always used the provided ICC profile

The printer profile is selected at print time only.
It has nothing to do with a working profile or an input profile.

Let me know.
