Question Best way to take pics of rhinestone designs?

Hi all. I recently bought some rhinestone transfers and really like how they look. I have heat pressed tons of screen print transfer designs. Since I sell only online I need good pics.

With the screen print designs I would take a pic of the pressed design, optimize it in photoshop, remove the background color and finally put the design onto stock shirt models. That way I can show the design on dozens of different shirt styles and colors.

However I tried that with the new rhinestone designs and, ugh. They shine and create "spots". Also even if I get them right the resulting look is nothing compared to how much better they look in person.

A picture just does not capture the beauty of the stone designs. So, may I ask how you all take good pictures of them? I guess I'm going to have to put a design on each color and style shirt I sell, have a model wear it and take pictures of each one.

Even then though you still don't capture the shine and beauty of how they look in person. Any tips or tricks? Thank you.

Fake it! ;-)

Add starbursts to random stones in Photoshop.

Ha! No matter how I do it I can't make the design look good trying to crop, cut it out, remove the background and then pasting it onto other apparel. Something gets lost and they look horrible.

They look okay on the real shirt. So I guess I'm going to have to press each design on each shirt style and color I want and have a model wear them. Only downside with that is using so many designs on a shirt style, color and size I may never sell.

Here's a pic I took of a ladies denim vest with pink wings on it. Nothing has been altered except for optimizing the brightness and color. The shines are from the flash. Not bad but still nowhere as good as in person.

Hi there. Thanks, yours does look better. I see you brightened up the colors and shine. I've been buying pre-made heat press designs, I don't have a machine to make them. The place has hundreds of designs plus can make me custom ones so I'm all set there, thanks.

I think I'm going to make some videos of real models wearing my designed apparel, those should really show how good they look. I'm excited about the many unique items I can make with stones. Thanks again.

There are some Rhinestone software available that will let you make a mockup and proposal sheets to send to your customer either by e-mail or to a cloud program that you can send the link to your customer and they can download it from there.
Two that I know of are TRW Rhinestone World and DAS. I do now that that the DAS program will allow you to copy a mock-up from a supplier and use it. These programs do run about $400 to 500 and up. This may not be what you are wanting to spend at this point in your project. I am just giving you this an option and you can do with whatever you think. THANKS!

you've obviously angered issac
go back to his site and click your up arrow thrice, your left arrow once and your right arrow twice
this will usually put issac in a better, more receptive mood

if anyone wants to make/cut their own rhinestone designs you can use silhouette studio with the designer edition
studio is free and the designer edition is about $30usd, but it also gives you the ability to import svg's

you can use any of your vector designs you want, and adjust your rhinestone size/spacing etc.
break your design into layers for different colors, then cut each layer individually

if you don't have a cameo to cut with, simply save your design as a studio file
then go here and convert it to an svg for free (10 free/day or buy 200 conversions for $3.49usd),
and cut it with whatever cutter you have
you probably will not retain the layers, so save each layer with a color designation so you know what is what a month form now

I bought my first batch that I have by talking directly to them at a show. With their site I think you have to contact them and talk to them directly. They check each order personally and will email or call you to make sure everything is good before finalizing the order.

You may even have to give them your card number over the phone. I would call them and explain you want to order some of their items and they will tell you what to do.
