Default Pre treatment

I was looking through consumables and noticed different versions of pre treatment. Why is there a need for light and dark? Isn't pre treatment just the same solution. What's the difference between the two solutions?

Dark garment pretreat works with white ink and CMYK. It however does not cause a good bond to just CMYK so enter the light garment pretreat that works only on CMYK ink but cannot hold white ink from washing out.
