Default Anyone gone from the 5 to the 6

I've cranked out about 1000 sweats this month using 1 R-Jet 5, the cure times of the Image Armour have brought times down a little but thinking about moving the two 5's we have out and bringing in a 6 next year - anyone upgraded and experienced the need....the need for speed

I've just learnt that the 6 hasn't officially been on sale yet which probably explains why no one can compare the two

Anyone see the 6 at P&P? - it wasn't printing garments but we saw the machine go through a simulation of printing and it was fast

Colored sweats? I didn't think DTGs worked well with poly blends?

It was CMYK on 80/20 so no issue

... how fast?

Could you compare the 6 to other garment printers?

Well it's difficult as I didn't see it actually printing and the only printer I saw printing was the Brother GTX and this was around the same sort of speeds but there will be plenty of pro's and cons on all I think. I can't compare it to a Kornit as I've never properly seen a Kornit in action.

6 will use an Image Armour ink, no word on the cost of the inks yet but I would say they'll be a lot less than the Brother but then the Brother isn't as big of an investment for the machine.

I saw the GTX and really liked the build quality of the machine, both don't use Epson printheads so respectable replacement head costs and availability but say at the moment an R-Jet 5 in image armour is less than £30 for a 250ml CMYK, the Brother is 3 times as much.

A bit more info, the final unit comes with it's own pc for operation and it will be looking on par with something like the M&R machine, using an Image Armour ink so costs on those will be very economical and it runs off individual Ricoh heads so unlike say an Epson head where you have to replace the whole thing at a decent cost, you can swap out the offending heads generally at a cost of around £250-300.

Yep we've just had to replace the head in our UV printer, the price of it made we cry
