Hi Guys, just bought an rjet 5 second hand to try and enter the garment printing industry, have managed to set the printer up and done a few prints will post some photos later to see what you think, not sure what to make of resolute as a company yet i have heard good things but the lady i spoke to when i phoned to recommend ink and service prices was a bit rude got the impression they are not interested unless you bought new from them, hope im wrong as Colin on this forum seems very helpful and i did enjoy my free sweeties in with my first small supplies order

Hello Andrew,

If you have not had any training you could struggle to master the DTG process quickly. Did you get the printer manual with your R-Jet 5 ? We can send you a pdf version if it is not already located on the orange dongle that the RIP software came on.

We also have some a4 sheets explaining how to perform various processes if you need any help with pre treating etc.

Your best bet is to come for training at Resolute, there is a cost involved if you did not buy the printer from us direct, but it will be worth the visit and the money. If you would like to book in for training let me know with a direct email or PM.

Regards

Colin

thanks Colin i have the pdf instructions as i have 3 roland digital printers and was trained on them i think a full days training would be wasted on me i understand its a whole new industry and the printer needs daily care rather than monthly but i will consider it when i have have ran it for a few weeks, my plan is to buy a new one if all goes well with this up till xmas which hopefully will got a brand new head

here are my first two black t-shirt prints the camper did not come out great not sure why at a guess would say the pretreat was not completely dry so gave it an extra 10 seconds under the heat press for the cherry's very happy with the cherrys print and think a customer would be hopefully will wash ok

Its not enough PT on the van but the cherries look ok. Let me know if you need any more help, its quicker to email me as I don't get much time for the forum messages.

Best of luck,

regards

Colin

Bear in mind it's a real learning process and pressing print for every job may not give you the right results, that's why the rip has many different queues which you need to have a fair idea of plus knowing how to properly maintain the printer will keep things running smoothly.

I've found the aftersales from Resolute great and we've cranked out well over 1000 prints over the year (probably a lot more but we don't keep count)

Hi there, I agree with Colin, there's not enough pre-treat at the top of the first T-shirt which is why the white has broken up at the top.

As for initial post, may have just been an off day as I've always found them to be friendly helpful peeps.

Also if you weren't already aware and if you use Gildan Softstyle T-shirts, Tees from Honduras are a pain in the backside to print on, you can pretty much flood them with pre-treat and they'll still look like you didn't put enough on.

I have the same experience.. I called them for a simple problem about 3 months back. Printer was giving error code. I gave them error code and they did not even know what that code was about. They later quoted me £1150 to change printhead and capping station and stuff and asserted that's the only solution. After I get in contact with Epson, I asked them the details and it was Printhead Multisensor. It costed me £20 to buy that sensor and machine running perfect..

Now I am facing another problem with my second printer and I am sure they would have only soultion but to replace printheads, capping stations etc but not to diagnose the real problem.
