Default Best Inkjet printer & Ink suggestions

I have a couple of inkjet printers which I've used for average office and photo printing. Newest is Canon MP210 & MP 610 multifunction inkjet. Ink cartridges are very expensive and cannot find information on output. Looking for suggestions on best inkjet printers maybe with an ink distribution unit to keep the cost down. Majority of prints would be in black..... Of couse, looking for the best at the best price...... Any suggestions....
