The photo stylus series is designed and optimized for printing photos and the workforce series is optimized for business applications. Although it can print photos, it is designed for printing documents and can print letters faster. The workforce uses durabrite inks while the stylus uses epson stylus inks(i think).
I checked them out and we are currently weighing the options if we could squeeze the budget for it and if we want to own a "refurbished" printer.

Thanks.

Just an update

I've checked the printer drivers of the 1100s. The driver for the stylus T1100 and B1100 comes in an installation file and is larger than the work force drive. But the driver for the T1100/B1100 are different (If we are to base it on the installation program which ask you to select if you are installing for a T1100 or a B1100).

In this regard, we can say that the T1100, B1100 and Workforce printers has some minor differences and in relation to my earlier post, the way I understand it, the workforce is optimized for office use and the stylus is for photo prints. I am not sure where the B1100 falls under. I also seem to come across an office stylus and a photo stylus. Forgot to note the link but at any rate, however minor the differences, based on the epson driver installer, at least the T1100 and the B1100 have some differences. It is also safe to presume that the workforce, which has a separate driver also has some differences.

I forgot to update this thread.I have been using a plug-in software called gutenprint. It is a collection of enhanced printer drivers that enable the user much more control over the printer like ink density, etc. It has separate drivers for the

epson stylus office B1100.
epson stylus office T1100,
epson workforce 1100, and the

In this regard, I think it is safe to say that the 3 epson printers or variants with model numbers 1100 are indeed different. They may be the same in general usage but they are different in some specifics(region specific???). Otherwise gutenprint programmers would have written only a single printer driver for the 3 models.

For those who are still curious about how the WF1100, T1100 and B1100 differs, I finally got a reply from epson. The difference is in the ink cartridge and nothing more.

A brief googling shows that the:
B-1100 (UK) uses the T100 ink cartridge
WF1100(US) uses the T068 ink cartridge
T1100 (Asia) uses the 83FN ink cartridge

The different type of ink cartridge was based on regional availability or something like that. I cannot find the email but it was said that the 3 printer models are exactly the same.

The WF 1100 can use either the 68 or 69. One of them is called High Temp I believe.

The T1100 is being phased out. Does anyone know what the new printer model is?

The 68 and 69 carts are the just different mL capacity, one is "high capacity" the other is "standard". The cart number is not specific for what inks you use.

The High Temp inks you are referring to are really a "AKA" for sublimation, and can be put in 68 or 69 carts.

Awe, that's right. I stand corrected.

Haven't used off the shelf ink in awhile.

I asked Cobraink yesterday for a CISS for an Epson B1100 and they told me that the WF1100 won't work on that because some interior parts and chips are different.

I believe it is the ink cartridge that is different.

I looked into this allot before buying my B1100. These are all the same printer, but with regional differences to do with locale and something to do with cartridges. The prefix is down to what region the printer is available in. Makes sense if you think about it considering possible differences in power supply, languages etc

Digging up this thread from the grave.

Will a print head from a ME1100 work in a WF1100?

I can find ME1100's all day for $80 bucks... I can't even really find WF1100's.

They LOOK the same, but if the ports on the bottom or different or if the electronics in the head is different it would be a waste of $80 bucks and possibly a waste of my printer if it takes out more than just the head!
