Default Plastisol Ink in wash

I got a friend who made shirts and ended up washing them. Got ink all over the clothes and in the washing machine. I told him it was most likely because the shirts weren't cured the whole way.

Thoughts? Would there be another reason, also, how to clean up said mess in his washer?

Try using screen cleaner dabbed on a towel to get it out the washer.
