Default Union Mixopake white for solids?

Hi, been lurking on the forum for some time now, and gotta say you guys have been amazing already! Have read hundreds of posts and you have helped me learn so much!

So I am intending to set up shop with a mate and we are looking into our ink options. Really like the look of the Union Mixpake inks for their Pantone mixing. However wanted to ask if people would use the white and black from the system as a standalone ink for solids or would you buy separate inks for these such as the Maxopake Diamond White?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers

I would recommend the diamond white, but more importantly, focus on preping the ink. Stir the crap out of it 5+ mins with a drill and warm it up, makes things a lot easier than printing straight from the bucket.

Thanks Peter, I have heard good things about the Diamond White. Know it can be a little on the thick side.

Was hoping I could get away with buying just the Mixe-1000 white for mixing and solids, rather than having two white plastisols.

With all the different shirts dyes there are we need various types of inks to cope. I use the Diamond white for poly blends and like their Brite Cotton for 100%. My lead printer likes to put the brite cotton down first, then use the Mixo white after flashing.

Yeah for sure there are a lot of variables. Just thinking initially id like to limit the expense if possible while we get up and running, but still want to be able to offer pantone mixing.

Eventually I would like to get into waterbased and discharge too, but thats another topic for another day!

So your lead printer would use two screens of the same seperation for two whites? Seems a little costly?
