Hair dryer no. Heat gun yes. A heat gun looks like an industrial hair dryer except it'll burn the skin off your face! LOL. It's going to be EXTREMELY SLOW without having a flash dryer/conveyer dryer.

A heat press works awesome. A nice smooth surface at 350 for 20 seconds. Heavy pressure. I just did 100 shirts tonight and cured each one this way. Work with what you got til you can get better.

x2. I'm using a heat press for my final cures as well. Using a heat gun to flash cure. I've got mine set at about 340, and press for 30 sec.

I really do not mind curing this way at all. By the time I get my next shirt ready for print the cure is done. I will be getting a a flash dryer real soon. I dont like using the heat gun.

What type of problems were you having using a press?

Doesn't matter we use the right equipment.

Last winter I didn't feel like going to the shop so I used a single color press at home with a heat gun and heat press.

Ended up having to take it to the shop and running through the conveyor dryer.

I use a heat press for curing. 180c for 15 seconds at medium pressure with a sheet of baking paper over the print. Never had a single issue, prints come out looking great.

You shouldn't have any problems. After all, Plastisol transfer sheets are made to be heat pressed this way.

Sorry SnB, didn't mean to imply you were using the wrong equipment.

Meant to say we're using the right equipment at the shop.

The job I was doing was White All-over. During the Winter White ink doesn't play well. You really have to have a warm room, and ink.

Actually it was two winters ago. I was tired and had to finish a job. The ink was sticking to the top of the Teflon sheet. Tried to hover the heat press, but didn't work well.

You placed it direct under the press while wet? I was scared to do it so I hit it with the heat gun for four seconds first.

No problem. I have printed 1 color, let's say 24 pcs, after finished w the printing process, I start w the first shirt printed, to put it on the press for 5" for curing, at 350F. Results are perfect. No complain from customers on over 200 orders printed.
Because of the need of multicolor printing we just got a 4/6 press & flash.

Ay yi yi!
I admire you guys with the patience!
Heat guns and flashes for 100 shirt runs!
I would have lost my mind. Of course it's small and easily misplaced.
