Is anyone making money using the ghost white toners?

I see ghost white toner is available for a lot of printers now, but even after it being out for a few years now, I can't seem to find much real life experiences with it. What I do find is a lot of unanswered questions and videos on how to use it.

So is anyone using this as part of their setup to sell products and not just as a hobby?

I've been considering implementing it in my business for months now, however, the toner prices have kept me away. I know they claim the 1000's of pages yield like all toners, but that's still only at 5% which is nothing when doing graphic t's.

Another thing I've been considering is buying a cheap HP mono laser printer and refilling it with white toner for "HP" from aliexpress and see what happens. At worst, I'm out less than $150, at best, I will be printing money lol. Even if it works for just dark paper, it will be fantastic, since my primary product is stationary.

I engaged with the 'ghost white' experience and found it suitable with only the most simple graphics.
The registration of the second pass was simply too sloppy. (I used brother printers)
That is why the the five color lasers deserve a better price.
Obviously folks are making money with OKI and UNI. (not so much Uni)

Thanks, this is what I seem to gather from reading up on the subject. People give it a shot and then go back to what was working before due to all the extra steps you have to take to make it work only sometimes.

Where did you find white toner for Brother? I don't see it on their website or anywhere else.

With your setup, did it work well if all you needed to print was white? Only 1 pass

Well if you are using the process to print onto dark paper goods that is a simple process using a mono printer but the problem is the mono printers are shipped with black toner in them to keep the rollers lubricated. what color do you think you will have if you mix white with black. You need to clean out the black to do what you are referring to do with the black toner.
In reference to your original question about the Ghost printer producing 1,000 pages at 5% coverage which is about 150 to 200 prints of full color in our applications. That also holds true with the Oki 332 and the 532 models. Not really designed for this industry. I have heard from my customers and post on this forum the second pass on this printer won,t register and jams in the fuser.

Ah, I didn't know that about the monochrome. Is that the case with all brands with their monochromes? (HP, Brother, Canon)?

I actually own the 332 you mentioned and have been enjoying it for imageclip lights so far. Was considering getting a second and starting it out with white toner from the beginning since I can't remove individual drums. Good idea or not? I wouldn't mind a cheap solution even for just white text printing on black stationary.

I had it working for a short time with a Mono Canon but the black toner kept causing Ghosting when I was trying to print the white toner so I stop working with that model printer.
