i found epson dtg's cartridge price.
250ml cmyk is 11800 japanese yen.600ml white is 23400 yen.ink starter package cost is 70800 yen.ink not include new machine.
what do u say about it?

Think u r stuck with their ink due to printhead. The just lost 65% of their sales in US. Be just like a Brother now, can't afford to run. Bunch of companies just took a deep breath and a sigh of relief. If that price holds for US market.

i found it from Epson Japan and google translate it.there was many interesting information about epsons new dtg.if intereting try it.i belive that new dtg is not game changer.only will be BROTHER like brand.but they maybe planned "to take" all epsons printhead based market...lol...dont wait more....maybe printhead lifespan will be little longor than others.....but...

Lets wait a let it play out. Everything is expensive in Japan! Very expensive.
As it stands, advertised life of printhead is life of printer, ink coverage per ml as it is now, is estimated at 60 percent of dupont. Very thin. I expect to see this change in the near future. Currently epson test prints are made with 2 passes of white, 1 cmyk. SGIA may reveal some significant improvement.

So 231$usd for 600 ml. Are those the official EU released numbers.
So about same in yen it was 240$. No if they get that cost in half they could rule the world. Well at least do very well.

Reality is that worrying about ink costs at this point in the game is a mute point. Chemistry changes in ink generally take 3-6 months to commercialize once the ink is beta tested (which is normally another 3-6 months). If the ink is not "dense" enough as Randy indicated (and was confirmed by my "feet on the ground" observer in Chicago) it may be a year before that issue is addressed.

As with any other new machine being introduced into the direct to garment market - I would suggest that we are at least 9 months or more out before machines are ready for prime time. The RIP manufacturers I have interfaced with who are considering developing for these units only received test machines in the past month or so.

Egg first Chicken first?
Humm~
Tuff call.
If EPSON is developing RIP now as Don addressed. I will be so shocked because it does not sound like look like Giant's behavior at all. Even respectable Modifiers will never do that.
Did Don saying Epson send out F2000 printerS to RIP writerS to developing RIPs?
They have default driver like Brother. Does Brother developing RIP? I don't think so but ~.
Ink: Opacity was there but pretreat was maybe not. Bird told me.
35 cents per mili liter is between Brother and DuPont price tag.
Since there will be many EPSON dealers as same as DuPont's. Price can be lower than that is so easy to predict. But Hey~ who know what.
We will have all answers in 19 days at SGIA.
Cheers! Beers are on me always.

I'm not sure we will have ALL of the answers Peter! Look forward to seeing you in Orlando!
Cheers, beers on you, ALWAYS!
All the answers will cover,
Quality of output.
Speed.
Machine Price.
Delivery date.
RIP,
Ink price,
Dealers.
Service plan.
Anything not covered? I am sure it will be much more detailed than Print13 show. I will look close this time since I missed at Chicago.
Cheers! Bourbons are on me always. Still the Same brand you liked? You have eccentric taste.:)

There are no secret on Price. Words are out not anymore Bird's singing.
$18995. Either with White ink or CYMK only. Without EPSON's Famous promotion Sale. That will be scary.
This news made all DTG makers alerted.
All machine Price Tag are readjusted. While Anajet went North. Lol.
Good to DTG industry. MFG have no choice but match or lowered than EPSON to survive.
Brother: they already made few moves.
Modifiers or Resellers: price went down whole lot.
Anajet: I don't think they are in league with $30,000-40,000 price tag. Worthy? Your call.
Future developer: have to re-calculate about mfg cost and market accepting $$$$$.
I don't think EPSON will have many dealers to start.
No one has exact data of how many DTGs are sold by month or year.
World wide and USA market. This is guess game. I have my guess and others too. I am sure EPSON did lots of researching before they invest Millions. I mean Many many Millions~. Whew is it already winter? Why it is cold? LOL
Cheers! Beers are on me always.

there is many waiting.but there will'nt be big battle ORLANDO SGIA.because otheres now not ready against ePSON's action.
battle will be between brother and epson."second"/not hand:p/ brands like yours will do hard battle 10-15k price tag.below 10k there is chinese market.but average market is 10-15k price tag.there is one chance to "smaller"-cheap ink.if ink price went down to 100-150$ there is no problem who is brand who is not.and worldwide market will bummmm.

Lol,
You sounds like Nostradamus!
Not made in China made in USA will remain less than$10,000- $15000 for sure on Epson modifiers. Who cannot run this race should go to flag store and buy White Flag.
Ink price will drop as stock market in 2008.
Yes, major battle is EPSON vs. Brother but exception always stay in shade.
When Lion and Tiger fight over Chunk of Meat, by stander Wolf can get their meal and take off. LOL, just a scenario.
I don't know what part of world you belong to but How many more years Earth has left? LOL
Cheers my friend, have a nice weekend.:)

I would like to interject here that we've only had a few that have done 50 washings +/-. the whole key is the pretreatment....... ink plays a factor, but bad PT and 60 washings isn't going to happen... same with ALL pretreatments. However, shirt quality plays in too.

#24 ·
I think any shirt will make it 60 washes, but its how does it look at this point is the question? I have tested the image armor and it drastically exceeds the current pretreats available. I can also say this I got a sample shirt from the print13 show in Chicago and have did some wash tests and its more in line with the wash results of the DuPont pretreat..

take that with a grain of salt because it depends on how the shirt is pretreated according to past history of pretreat application and technique, so past results vary from show to show with all brands of dtg manufactures. However I don't see this as a viable explanation with the ease of application with IA pretreat which defies this past history eliminating the "small window" of success with the pretreat application. That said if I was a betting man I would put my money on the IA pretreat having the upper hand based on the wash tests of the Epson printed sample and my test results with IA pretreat..
