Question Only taken samples to a festival?

Hi! Has anyone out there only taken samples of each t-shirt design to a festival and had people order the t-shirt on site and mail it to them? How were your sales doing it this way? Are people still willing to buy them if they have to wait 3-5 days to get them? I was considering this so I wouldn't have to print out so many t-shirts ahead of time and possibly be stuck with a ton of left over inventory. Thanks for your feedback!

Festivals are an impulse buy. You will be lucky if you get a handful of orders.

The bigger questions are, Are you the sole supplier? Are you supplying the official shirt? How many people will be there? What are you selling? How much are you paying for your spot?

There are more but answer those and we can go forward.

Take a van full of sunglasses, hats and flipflops and be grateful if you sell a couple of dozen t-shirts on the day. Taking orders is a bad idea.

Correct. Most people at festivals only buy what they need to use on the day, or stuff they have lost or forgotten.

Ten ( 15) years ago people would shop, because they saw stuff they couldn't get elsewhere. Now everything is available online 365 days a year. So as Binki says - impulse buying, but impulse ain't what it used to be.

The mistake too many people make is that they think they are going to sell out in one weekend. In truth this weekends closing stock is next weekends opening stock. If you haven't got another event next weekend think carefully.
