It's $1500. He doesn't have any ink or anything ran through it yet because he cleared everything out to store it so it's been sitting since it's last print in September 2017.

Re: Post your experience with the DTG Viper here

Anyone still using their Viper printer? There is one for sale in my area that I am looking to buy. The seller is stating it is refurbished and has a new printer head, capping station, filters, dampeners and ink lines.

Is it a good buy?

The encoder wheel can be found in the steel box under the bed with the motor that drives the bed from the drive belt.

Where is the rotary encoder wheel located? Having a problem where loading is not working. It actually moves backward. And has nothing to do with the media sensor. Was working fine, was in the middle of a large print job when it just stopped loading.

If it is still going well then it maybe just a noisy air pump. I have a spear here if needed. Are the CMYK pressurising fine? Loosen a lid and see if the noise goes away a bit. They are very easy to replace and if this is the case i am happy to send my spear one down to you.

Thanks Grant for the advice - yes Murphy's law is that the crew are on hols - the Viper is still going well. We're heading to N'tle in a few weeks, I'll call you before then. Phil

Is the machine still working (printing) ok? I have said many a time before every one should have a UPS on there machines. I too live in NSW and have had UPS since day one with Kiosks right to Viper and never blown anything at all. You can get a good UPS for around $500 and they are worth every cent. If you get say a 2kva it will run your machine and PC plus if you have a power cut you will still be able to finish your job. I also think Adrian is on Holidays at present and is not back until the 23rd of Jan so you have to wait a bit unless John on call.

We're in far west NSW & any service call is by hours of travel or regional flight at half a thou before any work is done - reason enough to be sad? I think so.

Re: Post your experience with the DTG Viper here

Hello

We had a big electrical storm last night & when I went in to work this morning our Viper was making soft but distinct "electric motor noise" - seems to be coming from below the bed centre. The noise is constant & doesn't seem related to the wims. The only way it stops is switching off at the wall socket. I left it unplugged for 1/2 hour but no change when switched back on.

Ideas appreciated before I make a million dollar service call.
Thanks

Re: Post your experience with the DTG Viper here

I'm not here to bash, defend or make excuses. I am here to clarify a few things about the manufacture of the DTG Brand printers. DTG Brand has been manufactured in two places (other than a limited number of Vipers built in Australia - 10 of them I believe). The Kiosk, Kiosk II, HM1, HM1-C, Bullet & Viper were manufactured in Japan. With the release of the Viper (and all units from there on forward including the Kiosk 3/Raptor & M-Series) all manufacturing was moved to Singapore. I cannot speak to the Kiosk 3 so much as we (ColDesi - formerly SWF East) chose not to distribute this machine early on - instead we continued with the HM1-C until it was finally closed out about three months ago. Support, service & warranty on these machines is the responsibilty of the distributor - who in turn are supported by the manufacturer. If you have a DTG printer in the US and would like to get registered for support from our technical support department you can do so on our website or contact me via PM and I will help you to get registered. Warranty issues should be handled through your distributor first - if you are getting nowhere please let me know & I will interface with the manufacturer for you.

Hope this helps.

You name it. ink lines, main boards, print heads, etc. ect. Not mention a host of other problems. If you want to read the full 11 page report just let me know. I bought the printer brand new last august.
