Hey Chuck im going thru the forms looking up stuff on the anajet mp5i. I have a chance to purchase 1 for 1k but it needs new heads. What are your thoughts about this move.

Thanks, Steven Coffman

Chuck - Sorry I was out of the shop and in the office all day. I spoke with the AJ tech and he gave me a flushing sequence to try an open the flow of ink in the head. I did it and we will talk tomorrow to check out the results of these steps. If nothing works I will contact you after tomorrow. Thanks for the offer of help.

Unfortunately there are hundreds of us out there in the exact same boat. The machines dont work reliably, period. End of story.

Just like that. NO reasons on why a relatively lightly used printhead would get spoilt. New ones cost an arm and a leg (costing us almost $2,000). And now there's a voltage head error in the Magenta head - for 2 weeks they've been suggesting solutions, but nothing has been working, and even they don't know how to fix it. What's worse is that their local supplier (Mumbai) and service center has zero interest in fixing our problems - they're only keen on selling new machines. It's been an unbelievably frustrating experience dealing with them, which is why we have to pay to fly in technicians from other cities.

We've lost loads of customers, brand value, and respect. Now just to meet our committments to customers, we've outsourced printing to someone else, and paying almost twice the cost (since they need to make money as well), which means we're losing money per order.

Overall, we've just been losing money on this machine. This is the 4th part to give up (power supply was one, the printhead chip was another). I can't tell you how much I regret sinking a big chunk of my life savings in this - to any fellow entrepreneurs - go with screen printing, or outsource DTG printing to someone who already has a DTG printer. STAY AWAY FROM ANAJET.
I have done a lot of stupid things in my life and buying an anajet printer is probably my biggest regret! It put me out of business. Such total and complete garbage

Re: White not working properly on Mp5i

I so understand your frustration. I have sent a letter to my attorney, the leasing company and AnaJet telling them they need to take their machine back because in 6 weeks I have had to replace a pump, replace dampers and make other repairs. This is just like a car and it should fall under the "lemon law" as regards protection. I have lost more business and reputation than you would believe. I have suspended all further sales and will not make any further payments until this matter is resolved...I deally with them taking this boat anchor back.

Re: White not working properly on Mp5i

We've seen banding on mPower machines for a bunch of different reasons and I'll usually suggest checking dampers and anything electric when you first start to see it. I've also seen other threads where Anajet techs suggest printing unidirectional (regardless of who's ink you use), although this is much slower
@inkrunners you can also always give us a call if you have any tech support while using our products

Re: White not working properly on Mp5i

Hey,
No, that doesn't seem to be the same issue with me - we've been using Anajet Powerbright White Inks.
Took out the line connecting directly to the printhead, and force flushed it using a syringe with cleaning solution to check the spray from the printhead - which is perfectly fine.

So the issue must be upstream - either with the needle connecting the cartridge to the tubes (that's what Anajet thinks the problem is), or a blockage somewhere in some tube or damper.

Taking apart the system today and manually flushing and cleaning everything. Will update on whether that resolved the problem.

Thanks

Re: White not working properly on Mp5i

Hey guys,

Facing the exact same problem on my mP5i. Lots of banding, and ink dropping consistently from the white nozzle - and I mean dropping! I have white ink drops all across the floor of the printer.

Have run multiple printhead cleans, nozzle wipes, cleaned the printhead and the nozzles using cleaning solution and isopropyl alcohol - but the problem persists.

Finally flushed the entire system with cleaning solution, and refilled it with ink. No luck - banding even worse than before. Would love to post pictures, but this being my first post, it's not letting me. Will put up pics as soon as I am allowed to. Dampers look fine too. Any suggestions on what I can do? We have over 60 orders pending for the past week - none of which we can print!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Cheers
Swift

Re: White not working properly on Mp5i

Do you print with it every day?

I was told by support that getting a white nozzle check daily was not enough. You need to print with it every day or else the white will eventually plug up. Mine did.

Need to shake white cartridges. They say twice a week. I do it ever day.

These things are maintenance intensive. I hope you can figure out your problem. If you do, I hope you post what the solution was so that the rest of us can learn from your trouble.

Hopefully your printhead is not clogged. That's a $1200 bill that Anajet, at least in my case, did not cover.

Good Luck!
