Hi yes we were told leave machine on 24/7 as it has autocleaning system, If you turn off the inks will dry and clog.

Re: Turn Off for the night or not ?

Just a word here about electronic components in general.

I have always understood that the components undergo greatest stress when being switched on and off, which is why my computers a left switched on 24/7, and have been for years, without problems.

I also leave my Ricoh sublimation printers and Canon inkjet on permanently and never have blocked heads.

My F2000 as well as my F2100 have been done this way since day one. I do my routine maintenance every print day and they give me great nozzle checks almost every boot up cycle.

There are times when my DTGs will sit for a week or so because I am also a screen printer among other things and I may have other things to do. No problem at all.

I will say that it's your machine so you can obviously can do what you think is best for you.
Thanks for your feedback yes as you've said "at the end of a printday" no print everyday and sometimes while some weeks (while thoses week without print we've turn on and off everyday just for the circulation ink) as you we do another things that DTG (embrodery, sublimation, floc...

Well I stay the machine on On all the time for this year and see it if there will be again or not the problem).

Re: Turn Off for the night or not ?

Just a feed back, since one year with the epson F2000 I've follow the step (check the white ink everyday, if I'm no print while the day I turn ON the printer the night just for make a washing tube and turn off the printer) well today epson technicien come to the store for check the machine because The tube was cloge and he tell me to really stay the machine always on ON.

So I think I'll follow this advice for see if it's seem to be better for the machine, what do you think (we don't have prints everyday on this machine) you stay always the machine on "On" ?

Re: Turn Off for the night or not ?

The tube wash solution is under $20 for a 2 1/2 month supply. It's a very inexpensive step to take to put a few drops in at the end of a print day. You can then shut the F2000 printer completely off right after.

Re: Turn Off for the night or not ?

Also make sure, as with all direct to garment printers, that you keep the humidity level at 40 to 50 percent at all times in the space you are keeping the printer in.

You can use mathematics for a better solution. There was a term (I can't remember the name this moment) when I was studying Linear Algebra. You can use different restrictions or conditions and find the optimum solution. Or at least you will have a clear idea about it.

You only need to do the tube wash at the end of a print day. If you are not printing then you can keep the F2000 printer off - for up to 2 weeks.

We have let the F2000 off for up to 2 weeks with no issues. If you have no orders to run on it for more then 2 weeks (we should talk about that ) it's not a bad idea to print a sample shirt a week or so after not using it and then shut off the printer again.

Of course shake the white ink every morning and cleaning tube eco also....

My question is it is better to stay on this way or 2 other way :

1. Better to turn off the printer at the and of each day (for the night), and turn on the printer the tomorrow morning each day ?
2. Better to turn off the printer at the and of each day (for the night), but turn on the printer only when we are a job to do on it (if no job on the day turn on the printer at the end of the day only for make the cleaning tube eco), of course if no job on the week, make one print the sunday.

What is the best practice ?

Thanks

Here is what we recommend to all our F2000 customers.

At the end of a print day, do the tube wash procedure and shut off the printer. You can leave the printer completely off till you are ready to print on another day. We have let the F2000 off for up to 2 weeks with no issues. If you have no orders to run on it for more then 2 weeks (we should talk about that ) it's not a bad idea to print a sample shirt a week or so after not using it and then shut off the printer again.
