Re: texjet 4800 loosing random white channels

We had this issue with other colours except for white during hot weather in the past.

Yes, Epson print heads struggle with white ink
NoIt's not the end of the world if maintained properly

Print head can only handle a limited size droplet of ink, generally bad ink is the case. If the white is not shaken enough to get rid of the gunk on the bottom of the cartridge, imagine what that micro mm of gunk can do to your print head.

When we received training on the printer when we first received it 2 years ago, the tip is... Shake the white until you can see the ink run off the bottom and bubbles "popping" when turning the cartridge on it's side.

DO NOT turn upside down fully so the ait filter doesn't get clogged as they could also cause a problem which will mean low pressure for that cartridge.

Well maintained ink and proper cleaning does actually work... this is from experience from 1000s of prints

Sorry, funny way, the exchange of the printheads and the ink supply has brought nothing. Even your contractors have told me that they can not help under these circumstances. I should scrap the device.
After replacing the cable and testing for 3 years and burning money, the machines now print consistently, even after the tenth T-shirt. I lose no white channel anymore, I can show you a picture of the cable.

I suspect the previous owner of the machine has misplaced too much cleaning fluid, because he had the same problem.

Everything else would mean that all of my printheads or other parts were faulty, I can not believe that Epson would sell something like that.

Re: texjet 4800 loosing random white channels

Second update - three printheads later, two color supply units later, three capping stations later, and a preasure pump later.
found fault, none of the dealers mentioned me could help.

It was a 35 € part, the cable to the printhead.

Any problems with the white print should check the cable for damage before replacing the printhead.
and check if it has light burn marks.

Update:

After I have completely disassembled the machine again and finally exchanged the capping station, the machine runs perfectly. It was finally at the capping station which no longer perfectly sealed on the printhead. Now is pressure on the white ink tanks. By the way, cheap capping stations are available here

As this is an end user forum, it's mostly to find a solution when you have an issue. it doesn't represent the general situation. Polyprint is using the Dupont white ink, a major company in the filed.

Thanks, i know all distributors in GER. I will check the hardware next week, and the last way is bring the machine to berlin. i should open a office in berlin, so i spend not so much time with travelling.
But in fact i have read a lot of threads in this texjet forum, but there are a lot with the same problem. Is it possible that this is a general ink problem? A specially the white?

Re: texjet 4800 loosing random white channels

and here we go again... it has to be the users fault not the machine. the guy changed all the print system of the printer everything!!! and you tell him to send over technician to pay you again?
Your machines are very poorly made my friend. the inks especially the white are not designed for this type of print heads. cleaning and more cleaning again and money down the drain. WE pay for this not you and of course it is some how our fault.

Was this the issue you had in the beginning and changed all these parts?

PS what inks are you using?

The reason was dried white channels including tanks and a dried printhead.
We have already changed the printhead and the ink supply this year in January. Cost 1600 €

In August we had the same problem, but I had no desire to invest 1600 € again. That's why I ordered the parts myself from the Epson dealer and your dealer Schulze. We only print with Polyprint inks.

I am extremely pissed because I put only money in the machine and earn nothing with it.

Yes i have changed the complete InkSystem with:
Tanks and the Ink System Assy including the dampers and Tubes. (Spare part 151586)

The white Channel disappear completely. After the Power Cleaning the channels come back. I lost a lot of ink.

We have exactly the same problem as in this thread:

https://www.t-shirtforums.com/texjet/t319897.html

But we've swapped the ink tanks, assembly, and printhead before. Everything is brand new including ink. After the third T-shirt printing, the white disappears.
