Re: Print process/countor cutting help needed

This is what I found for tricking silhouette studio to use color profiles, I haven't got my sub printer yet to try it out, especially as I have a mac and not windows, but thought it might help, even though this post is old.

Re: Print process/countor cutting help needed

Are you on a Mac or PC?
Adding a preset for a printer depends on the printer driver and the program. Adobe has very powerful printer controls which replace the stock drivers. But I'm not sure, if the program doesn't have a way to set it up, how you would do it in another program. Operating system can make a difference, too, in how the printer is controlled. For the PDF, is there a setting to maintain size, or print at 100%, instead of fit to page?

Re: Print process/countor cutting help needed

Ok. Odd. When I add the registration marks, the item I'm cutting is a bit smaller. But when I print to PDF, it's almost completely cutting off the bottom registration mark....so that barely any shows up in the PDF.

How can I just add a preset to the 7610 to be used in silhouette studio?

That's a really good idea, printing it as a PDF.

I'm in silhouette studio and I can't figure out how to choose the color profile from cobra. I see it in the settings (color management) but it's not showing up under printer presets (which Is what I'm trying to get set as!)

Re: Print process/countor cutting help needed

Hmmm... You have to create the registration marks in Silhouette Studio or they're meaningless. The marks are to tell the software where to cut. If you just lay marks in via Photoshop they won't have meaning when you go to cut. Have you determined that the Studio print driver doesn't give you access to the settings you need for your inks? When I was using Studio I found it to be surprisingly powerful in unexpected ways. If you have, the next thing I would try is printing the image, with registration marks, as a PDF, then opening that in Photoshop and printing.

Well...I don't think I can access the print settings I need in the silhouette workspace to print appropriately for my cobra inks

I'm not in PS but in Serif I would save the image as a hi res jpg and drag it into the cameo workspace, trace, print and cut from there.

Re: Print process/countor cutting help needed

So I am going to print a design out in Photoshop to make sure coloration is good, but need to contour cut in a silhouette.

Can I print registration marks from photoshop, and will the silhouette recognize them?

I'm having trouble mentally walking thru this process. help!
