also, what are the benefits of using Corel? I see people using it all the time in lieu of Photoshop for printing transparencies. If i already know PS, is it simple to pick up?

edit: still haven't been able to try what Celtic suggested. it's been a busy week, but I'm going to tomorrow.

thanks!

For me it's because I quit using a Rip, well kinda, I use simpleseps which does vector and monochrome bitmap seps, halftoning features that no other rip has. I'm able to obtain better film directly from Corel without any plug in then photoshop.

Hope what Celtic posted works for you. When I printed out of Photoshop tiling it had to be set to borderless printing. At first I used a paper cutter before taping. Although I still use Photoshop all printing is done out of Corel or Sherif Draw Plus

thanks for the response. what would you suggest as far as being able to print borderless images with accurip/being able to seamlessly tile large images?

Re: Accurip not allowing me to access epson advanced settings?

Hey, all. This is my first post on this extremely helpful forum.

this is the issue that i'm having

So for the last month or so, I've been using accurip to print my halftones for my large art prints with my EPSON 1430. Because my prints are larger than 13x19, i've been printing tiled/borderless images and stitching my transparencies together with tape at the edges.

However, a week ago something funny started to happen. When i would go to print from illustrator/photoshop, the advanced options that were there before just disappeared. I no longer was able to select borderless or even paper type. As a result, my halftones are all spaced out with a 1/4" border. This is incredibly frustrating, and i've tried everything to remedy the problem.

I even tried reinstalling accurip and the 1430 on my other computer, but the issue still persists. The aforementioned advanced options are still there for the regular 1430 printer - just not at all for the accurip 1430.

instead, for the accurip 1430, I get this crappier and simplified advanced features list. i've included screenshots.

this is a photo of the limited settings that i get when selecting the accurip epson:

these are the settings that i want to retain but only get when selecting the standard epson 1430:

Thanks, guys.
if anyone can help me, i'd really appreciate it. i'm going nuts trying to figure out what the issue is.
