Re: desktop epsons using eco-solvent ink?????

well I thought that maybe the new epson l100 and l200 series are more adaptable to the eco solvent inks since it has a built in CISS and for sure it has a durable printhead. Im planning to experiment on it, your thoughts guys? and if hot air works for printing vinyl it will be just a small mod for this printers

I'd love to be able to print some uv safe vinyl stickers from one of those babies.

I found this ink, 'jetall', which claims to work with all piezoelectric printers:
"JETALL" Eco-solvent Ink

Im sure there's other brands, but I just happed across that one while googling up some other info. Certainly the ability to print eco-sol inks from a basic 'el-cheapo' desktop would be a pretty sweet setup. (yeah, sure -- ya probably gotta roll your own ICC for it, but even if that takes ya a few days of trial and error, no biggie)

Anyone worked up the gumption to test out eco-sol in a desktop? Im on the prowl for a cheap craigslist epson to give it a whirl. (no need to jam working printers, eh?)

Just wondering if anyone else had gone down the same path at any point??? thoughts? experiences? riot acts to be read? =o)~

spanks a mil,

The discharge system causes the ink to streak and smear C88). The sheet extraction rollers are to close to the print head. I tried preheating the sheets of vinyl and blowing hot air over the printer as it was working. I am a perfectionist and do not sell prints with streaks from the rollers.

No prob! Yeah I believe you have to call in still for the end price – but there is a "Packages" tab that will give you an crossed out high ballpark price for each pkg type depending on what your looking to do with it.

As for the Stahls stuff you're looking to print on, I'm not sure. I'd ask an printer person at SW about that. I don't wanna tell you wrong or give you false hope

excellent! that is just what I wanted to hear. any idea current market price on it? they don't show it on SW website. And how wide can it print? Do you know if I'd be able to print onto Stahls Sub Block Printable Heat Transfer Material with it?

PianoPop6, oh wow, yeah this IS an old thread. I forgot I was subscribed! Lol.

Yes I highly recommend the PrismJet DT printer for exactly what you described. I updated the link because 34Ford's forum link didn't seem to exist anymore, nor does the forum?!?

Apparently its a Mutoh and there is not much interest in it.
Here is a few posts on their forum.
$5999.00 is a lot of dough for a 13" printer.

Just to test though, you could possibly rig a halogen lamp over your feeder tray. I think the vinyl only needs to be at about 80-90 degrees right?
For most of my material, you heat it to 40c/104f under the printer head and 50c/122f as part of the drying.
