Re: My Firebird DTG Ink Review and Experiences

Hi, I have a problem with a print head. I own a DTG M2 printer and use Firebird inks. CMYK nozzles are good but white nozzles aren't. The white ink (nozzles) work at 60% only. I changed print head 2 weeks ago so I need some advice. Can Last Resort Solution help my printer? Thank you.

Depends how long are you going away. for 3 - 4 days I would not flush anything just put cleaning in the capping station and do a power clean when I return. For longer periods it can by risky.

Once that is done will reflush with fb cleaning solution. Will my head be ok when i get back or is there something else I should be doing?

About clogging, I print all days, but last week I had to left 6 days, and had no time to flush the white line.

When I came back, I had a perfect nozzle.

Hey Penn,
Yes FB PT with FB Ink... If you're used to using Image Armour (which works fine as well) you will need to tone down your over spray. IA lets you go nuts with great results. The FB PT requires considerably less application. It is more adherent and needs to be sprayed with a finer mist... Like with an HVLP type sprayer. Less PT will translate to less $$ in the long run too.

Machine is a Freejet 330TX. great unit - Call Omniprint and talk to Victor or Said (Sah-Yeed) for details. Just a well thought-out design. Wetcap system puts the humidity where it is needed most - against the printhead..

Hope that helps

Re: My Firebird DTG Ink Review and Experiences

Also...
I will go ahead and do something I don't normally do. I want to recommend Firebird ink to anyone who is following this thread. To anyone who is on a fence about switching.. It is simply superior in every way to other inks I've used.
  • Extremely Durable
  • Significantly more Vibrant
  • Easy to clean/maintain
  • and much more affordable (big factor for us)..

To someone reading this thread without knowing me personally, I can tell you that I never jump at the chance to reinvent the wheel. And I hate an unnecessary gamble. But this risk turned out to be one of the more positive things we've done for our prospering little DTG business.

These guys have taken something that was mediocre at best (DTG Ink), and transformed it into something that we will all come to rely on soon... And something that will scare the crap out of screen printers who are used to denigrating DTG quality, in an attempt to coerce potential customers to staying in screen printing land... Not anymore though.

Thanks to all the groundbreaking research these guys have done, we can now confidently give a discerning customer an awesome printed sample to destroy in their own environment. And not even doubt the outcome. That is big for me personally because I spend a fair amount of time rewiring the brains of buyers who've been told (by their trusty screen printer) that DTG is no good, and that the "prints will disappear after the first wash"... I battle this constantly.

I am pretty sure if you give these guys a shot you will never look back. Spend more time printing, and less time convincing your customers that the prints will last.. And make some money

Honestly, the Firebird ink is treating us quite well...
-Brighter colors
-Super durable prints
-Cheaper inks

...Pretty happy about all of that

White nozzle checks are at 100%. I even left town for 5 days while the printer sat unattended, and the White nozzle checks were flowing at 100% (CMYK is always at 100%)

The prints are vibrant and durable. I will post some pics here this weekend.

Re: My Firebird DTG Ink Review and Experiences

I see it. It is one of those tricky little devils, and only time will tell... So far none of those items from your reply have occurred, have to do a nozzle check to make sure.

Thanks again for the detailed explanation
