Re: Maintenance software

Dear Moguls, Thank you so much for sharing all this great information! I already place an order for the Chinese capping station, and I also downloaded the Rip program! I don't have the DTG Maintenance Disk, I'm guessing I can use the Epson 2400 utility program to at least flush the machine.
Thank you again for your valuable help!
PS: I love your website!

Re: Maintenance software

Congrats on your new "broken toaster". It will provide hours of annoyance and frustration followed by brief periods of joy and moneymaking. Think I'm joking? I have two of them...

Maybe someone should get the fruits of my suffering, here are my coveted links:

You need RIP software, get it here: Inkjet Printers, Color Profile Large Format Printer, RIP Software,Film positive,PDF Converter & PostScript - iProof Systems Inc.
V.06 is what runs an HM-1
Unless you have a removal code from the former owner, in which case, you go here:
Color accurate proofing with iProof Systems

If not, download it and use it with the watermark until you are up and successfully running.

The dongle is only used with the DTG maintenance disc, to do things like reset the waste ink setting, do you have that disc?

the manual:
Epson 2400 SSC service utility: SSC Service Utility for Epson Stylus Printer.

Buy ink and head here:

Epson™ R2400

Chinese source for capping station

Epson Stylus Photo R1800/R2000/R2400 Pump Assembly $41.66

Buy yourself a used, in working condition Epson 2400 on Ebay. make sure they guarantee it prints in all colors, a pic of a recent test print is the best assurance.
epson 2400 printer in Computer Printers | eBay
This will cost about 300 bucks, but should include a head that is cleanable and can be installed working, into your machine. Test print with it before taking apart. Salvage every part you can out of the Epson, many cannot be purchased any longer. A paper feed motor can stop you cold and cannot be found in inventory anymore.

With this info you should be able to get up and running.

Hope this helps you,

PS webmaster- might want to permalink this so I don't lose it myself!

Re: Maintenance software

Hello everybody. I just got an used DTG HM1, but I can tell it's not in great shape. I bet I'll have to replace heads and other parts, but for now, I turned it on, and it's not giving errors. I do not have any software, no RIP, no Maintenance program, but I do have a dongle. So as for right now, the machine has Ink inside and I've not been able to flush it without the maintenance program! I'll try tomorrow with a Syringe, but in the meantime, if someone know how to get or has the software? I'd really appreciate it!.

Re: Maintenance software

Look for the R2400 maintenance program on the web, it's the full version Epson maintenance program. If it's installed on anything higher than Windows XP it must be ran as an admin and in compatibility mode for Windows XP. This goes for the software that came with the machine as well... Also the dongle itself has drivers that must be installed prior to its use.

Re: Maintenance software

So, what does your computer say when it can't read it? I have computers with both wind XP and windows 7, both can open the CD, select the programs and run them. Can you try another computer, maybe a laptop, and run it? You don't need rip pro installed on that computer to run the maint program. I had an issue once with the system files on our desktop where it would run the rip no problem, but not the Cd maint program. I Just ran a usb cable laptop to HM-1, plugged in the dongle, and away we went. I think I had to have the epson 2400 driver installed, not sure on that... Bet this would work for you too!
