Default Cyan channel dropping out

Hey,

Seems we're having some issues with our CYAN channel only. It keeps dropping out. Tried the standard cleaning and power cleaning. Channel came back for a few prints but then dropped out halfway through the third. Changed the CYAN damper. Again, channel came back for a few prints then dropped out halfway through the third.

Any suggestions on what the problem is and a remedy?

Thanks...

Jonny

Sounds like the damper associated with the cyan channel to me.

The damper is BRAND NEW. Switched it out at when we started having the issue.

Going to try water falling the print head right away here, Leo from AA recommended this. Hopefully that does the trick.

Oh so you switched it out thinking it was the damper and it turned out not to be? Let us know what the end result is so we can look out for this in the future. Thanks, good luck.

Damper: Original? Often OEM defects make us crazy. New damper is not 100%. Sadly.
If you fine good damper supplier stick with them. AA couldn't find yet so we stick with Epson. Which is not our choice but ~.
Head clog usually not gone at once. Staring to lose nozzles first.
Line pinched? Do not forget clean cartridge accept nipple(very slim chance). Just do negative flush not water fall on cyan only.
Let us know.

Ink starvation is usually caused by a few common problems. Bad damper, even new ones can be bad. Pinched or clogged line, air leaks usually at connection, poorly seated damper, poorly seated cart, these seating problems can be caused by ink build up at head spike or at point of cart connection either on printer or on the cart at point of contact where needle inserts into cart. Bad cart usually because of above. Clogged capping station or waste lines but this shows as loss of cmyk, or wwww since capping station is split into 4/4 channels. IMHO, do not waterfall on a clogged channel, you can easily delaminate the head. Suck only after soaking. If you feel you must waterfall (push) only do so after you feel the pressure required to suck fluid thru print head is similar to channels you know to be clear. Even then once you achieve a spray do not continue to increase pressure just hold steady, spray will stabilize. Slowly eroding the clog. However this is a risky technique. I suggest sticking with the reverse waterfall, I. E. Suck!
