Default dye migration? White ink on Red hoody coming out Pink!

We have had this issue in the past but thought we had it beat, now we have a return of our white ink (double layer) coming out pink on the current hoody we are trying to print. We have upped the white ink levels twice so far with almost no improvement.
How do you beat this problem.
Kornit Storm II, 50/50 Nublend Jerzees Hoody, Kornit Neo-pigment ink.

What temperature are you curing at? Wouldn't go higher than 295-300.

Maybe you have Polyester in your Garment?

Polyester dyes out at about 140° Celsius, so i there is too much in your hoody, this can be a problem. Maybe try the white highlight funtion in this case, dry at another temperature or try out a new garment.

good luck!

Hi,

The Kornit's ink will start to polymerise from 143degrees Celcius, you should try to reduce the temperature and increase the time. (8minutes)
But i'm my point of view DTG on coloured polyester is never a good option.

Cheers

Try drying at a low (275-280F) temperature, and a longer time (10-14 minutes). The other comments are correct, the polyester in the garment is the main issue. Kornit ink is water based, so printing on poly, which is a water repelling material, will usually cause this issue. The other issue that may be happening, is that the dye lot for each size of red hoodie, can change. By this, I mean that some sizes are made in different areas of the world, and the methods and materials can vary from place to place, causing different curing results.

Thank you all for the suggestions, we have been playing with it and are still hit or miss, and yes the non-branded hoodies we currently have do have Poly in them (50/50). we have succesfully printed on other red poly fabrics with no issue.

The branded hoody we carry is a 70/30 and doesn't have this issue.
I am now trying to source a hoody with a higher cotton content, suggestions of good ones you have found?

On old school trick I developed for doing 50/50 hoodies especially red or maroon. I will soak the hoodies in a bucket of water wring it out and dry it, then print on it. It helps get rid of the loose dye in the garment. I would also like everyone else said dry it at a lower temp for a longer time.
