Looks like they have the platens on a conveyor system. No shirt hold down. This was the feature I was most curious about. I was wondering if they were going to use this method or some kind of carousel.

Yes, seems like there is a conveyor with pallets.. and the shirts go side-ways through the printer, .. starts with the pretreat station in the front.. , then maybe a white station, and a CMYK station..-

Has anyone seen this machine in action?

Do you know if the white ink being used is still the Kornit Neo Pigment or have they incorporated screen-printing inks as a base so as to eliminate the need for pre-treatment?

I believe $1,000,000 was the original price they were looking at, this was when they were suggesting it was capable of 400 prints per hour - but I see they have now lowered this to 250 units per hour so not sure if this will have any affect on price.

it says inline pretreat on the website.. so think its still basic kornit.. not new ink..

Well, a million is a pretty high cost of entry. It's only going to be for the truly big boys of the printing world. Not us custom shops. Wow!

Would cost me about $1500 to create a fake 3D marketing ad for vaporware, too!

Also, $1,000,000 would cover the cost of buying 20 entry level DTG printers AND paying salaries for 6 years for the 6 laborers to run it. And no worry of an outage.

I'm not understanding the point of putting all your eggs in one expensive basket, unless the labor savings are enormous. Can you image the profit loss when you're cranking out 250 shirts an hour and your machine goes down for 3-4 shifts before a tech can fly in?

There are working demo machines - I'm pretty sure they have thrown more than $1,500 at developing this

I had the exact same mind set 12 months ago when I bought my first Kornit Breeze - why would you ever buy a Storm II and not multiple Breeze machines? And who in their right mind is buying an Avalanche, let along a Avalanche 1000..

Well 12 months later, we are now replacing our Storm II with an Avalanche 1000 - it works.

Yes we have had down time, but you cant say 20 entry level DTG printers would be easy to manage, maintain, clean and keep running!

Seriously no joke we should do this! Make it a kick starter promise unbelievably awesome results and then give everyone their money back.

The win/win is we would likely attract enough attention/demand to find talented people other than kornit to make it real.
