Question Kornit storm II Experience and User feedback

Hi all! We're just about to invest in a new storm II from kornit, and want to hear from other users that have the machine, or experienced it.

We have done embroidery and heattransfer for 15 years and are new with DTG.

Can you really print on everything or the most?
Is there more problems then income?
Good support from kornit?
Other positive or negative experience that we should have in mind?

So many different opinions and meanings around, so need to get feedback from real users

If you take the time to learn what works best for you and get a good understanding of the machine, it is amazing. If you try to rush into production without taking the time to test you will run into little quirks and such. We have been able to solve nearly everything we have run into by taking the time to test and test and test over and over.

Printing the color charts onto different colored shirts and blends is a must if you want to optimize the machine and your time.

The support from Kornit/Hirsch has been great and we have no complaints. We have only been running our Storm II for 8 months, and spent the first 2-3 months testing and learning our way around the machine.

The only thing we have not perfected yet is 100% poly... The curing is much more complicated and time consuming. But again we still come in on wknds and run the machine testing new things. It really comes down to what works best for you. We used what we learned at Kornit and from reading online as guidelines for a basis and have since adjusted to what seems to produce the best product for us.

We are very happy so far and honestly have no complaints.

Good Luck!

We have had a Storm II for just over 3 months now.
The machine is amazing it prints on almost anything there is still a learning curve finding the best settings for different products and curing settings.
We mostly do cmyk and have put around 20k prints on it already.
Ink cost is the only bad point as even running cmyk only we burn through the white ink just turning the machine on getting all the heads cleared each day.

If you're not using the white heads very often you could get some Preservation Fluid from kornit to fill the white ink lines. Can't remember how much it costs but it might save you some money. You won't have to worry about nozzles clogging with the pres. fluid either.

Thanks Brodie
We actually are testing leaving the machine running through the week and only shutting down on weekends which should solve most of the wasted ink issues.

Hello, how about the ink consumption for a full print on A4 size?

Any idea, how many L you will consume if you print 1000pcs?

Thanks

How much does the ink cost per print?

The cost per print depends on the size and resolution of the prints. When printing on light garments, only CMYK is needed. For an image 8 inch X 8 inch (20cm X 20 cm) the cost per print is 10-12 US cents. When printing on dark garments, you must print a white layer first and then apply the CMYK colors. For the same size image the white ink will cost 30-40 US cents, meaning, the total printing cost will be 40-50 US cents.

FAQs

Got that from KORNIT site.

The question is, is the "wastage" included in the calculation? I am from Asia, so the ink cost might be different here. How much is the ink per 1.5L or the 200mL bottle?

How about the consumption of the PreT solution?

How much are the Storm II machines going for at the moment? New, of course.
