Question Inks/colors (want pure BW, or BW+color, not composite!:)

hi, its possible to print (with kornit and quick-p) with only black ink on white t-shirt,or only white ink on black t-shirt?
my t-shirt printer always adds all colors to my black and white pics(BW gradients mostly )..

i have one t-shirt from IF at home (look here: )

and the white area is pure white(without black or other ink), and blue is C/M i think.

i was thinking i will sent them *.PSD in BW mode next time, but how to make T-Shirt like IF above??

maybe will be good send them *.psd picture splitted to transparent layers depends on to color?

thanx for any hints
k.

We do it all the time. It's a function of the prepress talent. Why are they adding color - do you not want that? You weren't clear.

For color deviation problem, it is recommended to use eye-one color correction, color cast now be improved so that.

Try this- select the the image by holding the shift key and clicking on the layer icon. change your color box to 100% K. locck the layer and fill it. If everything is selected you will fill it ALL with K. Did you do this

by the way its black and white photo(in grayscale mode) )
so every pixel is supposed to be only 0-100K

SO, the question is:
Can dtg operator set Kornit machine to print only in BLack and White mode???

As I know, if you rip the image file by kornit action, in the black (between 0~100 percent) area, the photoshop action always add some C and M in the image. Sometimes the image are gray, and print out in light purple. So you need to "do it by yourself" to remove the C and M by photoshop.

Why the action add C and M? Because this will make the black color darker on white garment.
In my experience, when I want to print pure black color, I'll add C and M 35~70 percent. But if I want to print gray color, I'll remove C and M by using photoshop.

I am confused by this. I've by i1 and try to solve this problem. If anyone who used i1, please share your experience by using i1 to improve the print result.

i´ve removed all the colors in photoshop(setting mode to grayscale!)
maybe Kornit quickP app converts it back to CMYK?

What do you mean quickP "app"?
QuickP "Designer" will change image file to CMYK or CMYKHW tif file.

i mean QuickP application
so if QuickP converts it to CMYK i think the mystery is solved,

maybe they can knockout CMY in QuickP?

I think the QuickP app can't knockout CMY channel (I means the app can't remove the CMY channel). The app can only knockout "pure color" in the image.
If you use 1-bit file for app, you can use photoshop to "clean" the CMY tif file to blank. But you can't change the image size for print any more.
So, I always modify the 8-bit tif file by photoshop to modify the tif file. But I don't think it's a good way to remove the CMY color. Because the black ink isn't dark enough for printing pure black image on the garment. But if the image has gray color, it's a good way to remove the CMY color in the channel.

How to get a good tif file? You can't just remove the CMY channel only! I suggest you should use the modify photography skill in the photoshop, such as using "level", "curve" tool in Photoshop.

And if you want to get a perfect color, buy an i1 to do the color calibration.
PS. I don't know the detail about how to use i1, I just buy it these days and haven't familiar with this device.

k.
go into photoshop and set your foreground color to 100% K. Set your background color to 0C , )M, 0Y, 0K. Convert your image to greyscale/ convert it back to CMYK. Select the Layer and run Gradient map (Image/adjustments/gadient map) for converting to true black and white. I think you'll get it!

When you hover over the image you will see only K
