Default Jet-Pro SS Printer Settings

I am trying to find out what the proper setting are for printing to Jet-Pro SS, using my Epson printer. The instruction that came with it, simply say, "print the Image".

As a photographer I know the importance of using the correct Media Type, as well as Printer Profile. I am able to make my own ICC profile, if needed, but I still need to know which media type to use. Can anybody tell me what settings you use? Or where to find this information?

Thanks,
Steve

We use.. plain paper, and usually the highest quality setting. This has worked great for us (we print for some photographers) and no complains. Been doing it this way for many years.
We use custom profiles for our Epson, and recommend you do it to if you have the equipment to do so.

Thanks. I went ahead and used the Plain Paper setting, made a custom profile and it sort of works. The color seems fine ... But.. there's no real black. The black is maybe 70-80% black. Is that all I can expect? Or should I go back and try profiling it again?

Is anyone else having good luck with a different Media Type setting?

plain paper should give you 'true' black, the photo settings will give you the mix (dark grey)
check your file to ensure the black is black and not a blend

i've never had an trouble with a 7610 printing black on jpss on plain setting,
so i think it might be in your file color profile
