Default Wondering which heat press to buy?

I've linked videos from Tshirt Chick before. Now that she has been using 3 different 16X20 heat presses for a while, she has come out with a comparison video. Click here to check it out.

The three presses she compares are the Hix swingaway, Hotronix Fusion IQ, and the Heat Press Nation Black (I think it's the Black). Anyhow, she goes through her likes and dislikes about each one and I think she does a pretty thorough job of it.

Is she getting paid for these reviews?

it appears she is not getting paid by the companies to give favorable reviews,
but if someone clicks a link under her vids she gets a commission if a sale goes through

she has many vids (like this one on using vinyl for screen printing) and certainly seems simply like a user, and not a 'sales-person'

no different than most 'teaching/learning' bloggers (like this lady who has an extensive blog for silhouette related tutorials, and affiliate links to products)

to me, i will click affiliate links and buy through honest people who have taught me something
if i am going to buy it anyway, why not?
it is like buying a cup of coffee for open source coders and developers

In the case of the Hix, she had problems. It appears that they finally sent her a good unit, but the problem may have been the shipping method all along. Anyhow, in her latest review video of the Hix unit only she says that she ran into the Hix people in Long Beach and they shipped her the unit so that she could test it with the option to buy. She then goes on to say that she is shipping it back since she's already bought the other two units.

I've been in this business for over forty years and the only heat presses I've ever purchased were Geo. Knight presses. We just had to retire two presses because the control units died and they don't make them anymore. These were the newest oresses we purchased and were bought in 1996 and 1999.

We still have two hat presses and a smaller format press we use that are even older than those!

About 4 or 5 years ago we purchased the DK25SP. We like the press so much that we just purchasd the smaller version...DK20SP.

I know I won't be doing this for another forty years, but if I were, I know from whom I'd buy my heat presses.

The thing that I found most enlightening is her choice of the HPN Signature to use more than the Stahls unit. A much more affordable unit, but seems like many, many people would recommend the Stahls over the HPN unit. But the most important thing to her--and I suspect this would apply to many of us--is the "auto open" feature. You would have to either downgrade to Stahls' Auto Clam or upgrade to the Air Fusion to get that from Stahls. I wonder if auto open is unavailable on the Fusion IQ because it's too hard to engineer into a manual press that operates in a vertical manner instead of a clam shell-like movement.

I'm a fan of the Hotronix Fusion. Swing or lift feature is a back saver for me.
