Default Proper Gas Shocks Installation? (GEO KNIGHT DK20)

After my current press died, I was desperate and bought a GEO KNIGHT DK20 being sold locally. The seller stated that one of the gas shocks had bled out and as it seemed an easy fix (I'm no engineer, but I'm not mechanically an idiot, either), I bought it.

I made sure that the shocks I was purchasing (via the GEO KNIGHT website) were the right ones, both by nomenclature and by the serial on the existing shocks installed. They came and reading the directions carefully (found via the instruction guide to installing the "auto open" kit, which included replacing the shocks), I installed the shocks.

But they're not opening/extending. I can't tell what step I might have missed and can't for the bloody life of me figure out what I did wrong. The new shocks look EXACTLY as the ones I replaced, both in size, serial, and installation.

Might anyone have any suggestions, please? I truly appreciate any guidance anyone might have, thank you!! x

Call Geo Knight and explain what issues your having. They will help you get it working correctly. If you dont want to or cant call for whatever reason, email works too. They have great customer service/support.

Did you replace all the gas springs with new ones?

I would recommend replacing the hardware on it too, its easy and the parts are about $20 (RPK-CLAMHDW). It will make the press feel like new again.
