Default What is the Foam Pad For?

Hello. Hoping someone can explain what the 2nd foam pad that came with my press used for? Does anyone use it under the silicone pad? My research told me to remove it as it is not needed for t-shirts. If it is not really required for most pressings, I'm thinking of using a small piece to help on my hat press. Could this foam be used like the Print Perfect Pads currently being offered by Stahls and others? Thanks for your help!

I will post a photo of the foam and here's a link to the other product: https://www.stahls.ca/print-perfect-...-heat-printing

Specialty situations, Pressing jackets with snaps or bags with zippers that can't be worked around. The softer back allows for a deeper cushion.

Thanks. Really appreciate the response. I guess I could cut a strip off but would you know of alternatives or a diy hack to Print Perfect Pads?

Helps even the press out on items with some dimension (ie a seam in an inconvenient place)
