Default Best Starter Heat Press

Hey guys I am considering buying my first heat press and looking for any advice. A heat press is not something we use a lot of in the shop, so I want to avoid overspending on a machine right now. Just looking for a little starter machine for small jobs as we build more of that business.

Does anyone have any advice on a quality press under the $200-$300 mark that would be a good first machine?

Any heat press other than the budget-priced models sold on the internet shopping sites.

Hmmm, you have a press?
When you are spending under $200 for a press, you get what you get. I'm sure it will get hot for a while.
Money spent wisely is spent with purpose.

So, what are you going to press? Infant clothes? Drink coasters? Full garment? Letter graphics? Photos? Glass?

What about space and a 30Amp line?
When considering the purchase of a $200 press, choose the one that looks good at the curb, because when you need to get real work done, a $200 press won't do the job. But, let me be honest, I too had to put the press at the curb. You can repeat my mistake or delay your decision until you can complete the wise choice. A swing arm, 16x20 by one of the top 4 USA makers may be out of your reach, but keep watching the classifieds. The good presses last a long time.

All of this is soooo true. I'm discovering that the hard way with a hat press I never should have purchased. I own the mistakes, not the seller. They are just out to make money, so think about your goals, and in this business, make them high enough to invest in a better machine.

I have the Fancierstudio heat press from Amazon. It's not bad to start with.

One problem with the budget-priced machines sold on internet shopping sites is that there is rarely any support if a problem occurs.

Yeah, kind of understandable for the price.

Guys thank you all so much! I was able to find what seems to be a solid used heat press on FB from Heat Press Nation.

If you are on a budget get a used name brand or a smaller name brand new. They basically last forever.

It’s good that you decided to consult first, you addressed to the address. I would recommend you pay attention to the F2C Pro 5 in 1 Combo model (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6CMXYK/) because everything is included in the kit for printing on mugs, baseball caps, in general, everything you need newbie! You can read more in the review here.

You should be ok on most of the name brand/models you see discussed here. If used. stick to these brands.
