Default what is the technique called : real photo to comic image

Hello All,

Im new to this site and tshirt printing in general... I have a question perhaps 2.

Im am curious what is the technique called that takes an image of a person (say a action photo of an athlete and the print on the tshirt is more cartoon, not over the top cartoon perhaps more comic book like?).

any explanation on what this is called and how its applied I would appreciate the info.

You are probably talking about a 'vector trace' in programs such as Corel Draw or other vector programs.

As said, plus you may need half-toning for the comic-book 'dotted' effect.

There are online photo editing sites that will turn a picture into a cartoon.

befunky.com and the app Snapseed comes to mind. Google 'turn picture into cartoon' for others.
