Default space between text and outling

Hi,
I need to cut a design in vinyl.
I am trying to create some text with an outline which has a space between main text and the outline. I can do this on screen in corel using a contour but when I look in wireframe it doesn't have the space between outline and main text . Any help appreciated.I want to cut a different colour for the outline with the fabric showing through.

It'd be a two step contour (underneath your "offset" should be a Step counter, doing 2 basically creates a contour, then a contour on top of that contour).

After you do this, you want to break your contour group apart (arrrange->break contour group apart, or ctrl-k).

You can now select and move the outermost contour, and the next contour, and that will be your outer color's cutpath. If you wanted to see what it'd look like visually on the screen, then go to Arrange->Shaping->Combine, then fill it with whatever color you want.
