Default Bulk, Blank T-shirt Email Orders; Scam?

I semi-regulary recieve emails asking for a quote on 1000+ blank shirts with specific styles and colors they want, always drop-shipped and 'will pay in full'. I've never responded to them because something always seems a little off about them and I assume they're a scam. I've received 2 similar emails in the past couple of weeks and, if they're legit, it would be a pretty easy pay out but 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is'.

I'm just curious if other people get these emails and whether or not you've ever followed through and completed a transaction? If it is a scam, then I'm also just curious about their end game. What's the ploy?

Scam.

Ask yourself, why come to you when there are 1000 people close to them that can deliver the shirts?

Obviously a scam.
Do waste their time if you can... I personally enjoy doing so.

We have done that in the past also. For their shipper to pick up we give them the address to the police station.

Excellent idea, as this will cost them some money.
The problem is they always ask me to ship the goods and include the shipping cost in the price. I'll have to come up with an excuse and ask them to arrange their own shipping next time. Any Ideas?

Oh, the scams I get are they need an address to send their shipper to pick up and they will pay extra for the shipper and then I pay the shipper. After that their cc charge gets charged back and I am out all the money and I have a bunch of worthless shirts.

Aside from that, my agreement with my distributors is that I do NOT sell blanks. I have to decorate the shirts.

Insist on a wire transfer. If it comes through, legit. If not, not.

Wire transfers are safe, but watch out for fake confirmation emails. Always check directly with the bank.

Also, It may still be a scam but at least you'll not be the one losing the money.

Here is an example:
1. The scammer will pretend to be a middleman wanting to buy blank shirts for his "client" (lets say $2,000 worth of shirts) and will ask for your bank details to send the money.

2. He will then use your details to sell a desirable car (or whatever) for $2,000 including shipping. Once he has found a naive buyer willing to pay by wire transfer, he will pass on your bank details.

3. You will get the money, the scammer will get the t-shirts to re-sell, but the car buyer will never see the car and will obviously think that you have stolen his money.
These scammers usually go for more desirable and easy to re-sell items, but you never know.
splathead likes this.

I'm sure distributors will appreciate your honesty, but we all know that there is no way for them to know what you do with the shirts you buy. T-shirts don't have serial numbers, so they are untraceable.

I am sure if I started selling blank 511 shirts by the thousands someone would notice. Don't underestimate the power of the dark side (internet)

Noticing is easy... Tracing the source is not .
Evidently (by this thread) some are willing to do it.

Not all brands prohibit you from selling blanks. Only the big names like Nike, Adidas, Champion, North Face, etc.

Wholesalers will usually restrict you from selling only those brands blanks. Any other brand is fair game.

You are probably right, but I know "Next Level" prohibit the resale of blanks, and they are not a big name brand. This is why I assumed binki knows something I don't.

We don't resell blanks at all. You are right about the big names, Those channels are protected but for us we are in the garment decorating and promotional product business, not the blank reselling business.
