Default Need Advice regarding selling inventory

I need some advise. Due to health reasons, I am getting out of the screen printing business. I may look at other opportunities down the road. I currently have a number of T-shirts and other items in my inventory that I would like to turn into cash until I decide what direction I might go. These are Gildans, FOL, Jerzees, Hanes, Comfort Colors and several others.

We are having a local family type festival in a couple of weeks that draws a lot of local as well as people from outside the local area. It is an Amish community event and a rural farm community. I was thinking about setting up and selling my apparel inventory. I know a lot of people just want a quality Blank T-Shirt. My approach would be "I just want a quality blank T-Shirt" " I don't want to be a walking billboard for some company.".

The question I have is what % I might charge above my shirt cost that will help me to turn my inventory into cash. I know that you can't seem to find a quality blank shirt in most Box stores. At least I have not seen them. OK I know you can buy 3 FOL shirts in a bag for little or nothing but they are usually very thin material.
I was hoping that someone might be able to enlighten me or maybe just tell me it's not worth it or just a waste of time. I need to make a decision on setting up in the next day or so. They charge a fee of $40 dollars for a booth and it is only a one day event. I am hoping to hear from some others that needed to reduce there inventory and get some suggestions on the best approach in turning my shirts into cash for another opportunity. THANKS!

Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Default Re: Need Advice regarding selling inventory

My last deal on buying someone's inventory was 11 cents of the dollar against wholesale cost....IMO there is very little demand for excess inventory, especially if you think you can make any kind of profit over your costs.....
