It will differ since (for example) the fabric AA uses is 4.3oz, vs. a Hanes Beefy 6.1oz (and AA using slightly less fabric per shirt than Hanes since their sizing is smaller) - so the Hanes should weigh about 50% more than the AA (can't say I've actually checked).

Weight of a shirt varies considerably based on the fiber and weave used during manufacturing. There are several variations in both of these. Fibers could be varied to influence softness and breathability of the fabric. Similarly post weaving processing of the fabric can also change the weight of the shirt. In European and Asian countries GSM (grams per square meter) is used to reflect these two variables. Since weight changes the quality thus it influences price as well. That is why a Tee could vary from $0.99 to $5.00.

This is a vary handy list to have...thanks for posting!

Maybe we can compile a list of the different weights from the different brands/styles since some are lighter and some are heavier.

You're welcome Rodney. Those weights are for a Hanes beefy tee.
I love my little postal scale hehe.

TSF Sportswear (a Next Level Distributor) in Arlington, Tx say (from a phone call to their office) their Next Levels by weight are:

NL3600:
S = .31 pd, or 4.96 oz
M = .34 pd, or 5.44 oz
L = .39 pd, or 6.24 oz
XL = .42 pd, or 6.72 oz
2X = .46 pd, or 7.36 oz
3X = .49 pd, or 7.84 oz
4X = .50 pd, or 8.00 oz

NL3900:
XS = .20 pd, or 3.20 oz
S = .24 pd, or 3.84 oz
M = .26 pd, or 4.16 oz
L = .27 pd, or 4.32 oz
XL = .30 pd, or 4.80 oz
2X = .31 pd, or 4.96 oz

A 10"x15" mailing bag and 1 paper invoice is about .8 oz.
