Default Very new to this

So I just purchased a GCC Expert ll 24, and everything I read said it was great for beginners easy to learn the basics. Well I tried looking at the directions for Great Cut 4 and I don't see how this very easy. I just need help with turning my .psd and .png files so they can go to my cutter? I know someone has to have easier instructions.

You'll have to learn how to turn your BITMAP files (psd, jpg, png, tiff, bmp, etc) into VECTOR files (svg, ai, dxf, etc). This is a fundamental step and you need to brush up on VECTORISATION, as it's known.

I don't use GC software so don't know if it contains any vectorisation options, but many have what's called a 'Trace' function to help you do the conversion. These vary from very useful to abysmal! I myself use independent software (VectorMagic) to convert any bitmap designs to vector.

Your other options are: to hand-trace your bitmaps, or to buy files already in vector format, or to pay someone to convert bitmaps for you, or..... to design them from scratch yourself, using Inkscape (Free!), Illustrator, Coreldraw, etc.

I don't use greatcut4, is this a design program or a plug in for coreldraw or other design program?
